Hi, I'm Katy Dahl.
Then, when the first complaint came, I was confused, scared, and unsure of where to turn for help. I had no idea where to start.
Investigating the complaint was my responsibility, but I didn’t have any training to do so, and neither did anyone else in my district.
By working with a number of people, and doing a lot of piecing together the information, combined with training from numerous resources, I learned how to work through complaints of discrimination and harassment - and now I teach others to do the same.
I help public school districts learn how to handle civil rights complaints by teaching them a step-by-step investigation process.
